
Michigan Social Security Disability and Personal Injury Attorney Joshua T. McFarland received his law degree magna cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law in 2011 and became a member of the Michigan State Bar soon after.
Mr. McFarland joined Jay Trucks & Associates in 2011. He began by representing clients in the area of Social Security Disability. He was promoted in 2013 to lead attorney for the firm’s Social Security cases. He now oversees that department, in addition to representing clients in personal injury and insurance law cases. This includes automobile, no-fault, dog bite, and premises liability litigation.
In addition, Mr. McFarland has also handled much of the firm’s appellate litigation and has successfully argued a number of the firm’s appellate cases, including Danhof v. State Farm et al., unpublished per curiam opinion of the Michigan Court of Appeals (March 15, 2016).
He has successfully represented numerous claimants throughout the State of Michigan at various levels of appeal, including in the United States Federal Court system. He is licensed to practice in the State of Michigan as well as the Federal Courts located in the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan.
Mr. McFarland is also an active member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Social Security Lawyers section, where he is currently a member of the Section Council and treasurer. He is also a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR) and the Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ).
Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf, hunting, skiing, boating, and spending time with his family.
