Partnership for Prescription Assistance

Partnership for Prescription Assistance helps people get the medications they need, when they need them, and free in most cases by working with several different groups. By bringing together doctors and other health care providers, as well as community groups, patient advocacy organizations, and even pharmaceutical companies, PPA has helped five million low income Americans.

More than 475 private and public patient assistance programs, which include nearly two hundred offered by pharmaceutical companies, are part of PPA. Specific organizations involved with PPA include:

  • America Autoimmune Related Diseases Association
  • American Academy of Family Physicians
  • NAACP
  • National Medical Association
  • National Alliance for Hispanic Health

Because millions of Americans go without insurance or are unable to afford badly needed medication, PPA’s mission is to raise the awareness of patient assisted programs, and to boost the enrollment of eligible participants. PPA offers help for those who need it, especially those who earn less than 200% of the federal poverty level ($19,000 for individuals or $32,000 for a family of three). PPA also provides access to medications people need, and helps with insurance premiums and co-pays.

If you are unable to afford to pay for badly needed medications, contact Partnership for Prescription Assistance at 1-888-4PPA-NOW. By calling PPA, many of your questions can be answered.

While there are other companies out there that offer to help by connecting people with some of these same programs, they charge a fee. PPA offers to put consumers in touch with these same programs free of charge. Because cost may dissuade many people from seeking out assistance, PPA is hoping to reach the millions who can’t otherwise afford these programs. Each program has its own criteria for eligibility, and everyone will be able to fulfill the criteria for one or more group.
