Deborah C. Gracey
- "We will come to you!"
Debbie graduated magna cum laude from Michigan Technological University in 1990 with a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences/History. More recently, she has attended Saginaw Valley State University, taking teacher certification courses. Debbie joined the firm in June 1994, working in the Personal Injury Department.
The compassion and listening ear at Jay Trucks office began a healing in my injuries. If I had never even received any money it was wonderful to have somebody believe that a semi accident could really cause a body so much disharmony. Thanks to all who were with me every step. I will pray for your prosperity and health. "
In April 1995 she became the primary writer of mediation and arbitration summaries, and in December 1998 she was promoted to Litigation Department Manager. Three years later, she was promoted to Law Firm Administrator and has held a dual role at the firm since that time.
Besides being responsible for the administration and management of the firm, Debbie is also responsible for all personal injury cases that must go through the Michigan court system due to the fact that settlement negotiations with the insurance company have proved unsuccessful. It is the job of the Litigation Department to ensure that all court-imposed deadlines are met and that the case runs smoothly from the time it is filed to the time of trial. Although her responsibilities have changed over the years, reviewing briefs continues to be a major focus for Debbie. "Writing briefs is the one chance that we get in a case to specifically detail our client's version of events leading to the accident and the resulting injuries and damages that they have suffered. Although no two cases are the same, all are equally important to us and deserve no less attention. We write each brief as if it is the sole premise on which the case will ultimately settle."
